Lessons are primarily given in the student’s own home, but can also be arranged at Robertson Guitar School premises.

Lessons last for 30 minutes and payment is made at the conclusion of each lesson.

Lessons are held from Monday through Saturday in the afternoon and evening.

The electric guitar course covers music reading, from either score or tablature, is professionally presented using Sibelius software, and includes a wide range of original material in various styles to give a broad approach to electric guitar playing.  Students play along with backing tracks during lessons and audio files are available for home practice.

The acoustic guitar course also covers music reading, but primarily from score, although tablature can be incorporated, depending on style. The music utilised follows a more traditional approach.

The bass guitar course covers music reading from both score and tablature and is similar in concept to the electric guitar course.

Students who wish to take exams are encouraged to do so, but there is no bias towards them.  Classical guitar exams are entered through the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music and the London College of Music and electric and bass guitar exams are entered through the Registry of Guitar Tutors and Rockschool.

The Robertson Guitar School also offers tuition in both classical and popular music theory, through the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music and the London College of Music, respectively.
